Junior Interior Designer – Full Time
Scottsdale, Arizona

In-person work at our offices in Scottsdale, Arizona - Monday to Friday; 8 hours per day.

DESCRIPTION:

reThink Interiors and Lifestyle is a design-build firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona, specializing in residential and commercial design-build projects. We are seeking an Interior Design Intern to support our team in all aspects of our projects. You will be involved in material selection, SketchUp drawing, ordering and client communication. We are looking for someone who wants to learn and grow within our team! This is an excellent opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge of all areas of interior design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist lead designers on projects in all aspects, including: templating and drawing Sketchup plans, creating and presenting deliverables for each phase, taking detailed notes in all meetings, sourcing and coordinating FF&E, installation, obtaining samples, and vendor correspondence.

  • Collaborate on designs with the design team.

  • Taking on a deep sense of partnership and collaboration of projects with your lead designer.

  • Anything additional the team needs help with!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Sketchup training

  • Working on a Degree in Interior Design

  • Schooling in developing code-compliant designs; construction document standards, including standard dimensions, clearances, and terminology (i.e., section, elevation, RCP, etc.)

  • Must be able to create drawings in Sketchup with the help of a designer to calling out construction details, including finishes, dimensions and required information related to the spec book

  • Ability to problem solve and think on your feet.

  • Ability to engage and work seamlessly with others; to include clients, contractors, vendors, etc.

  • Able to handle deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment and an openwork setting.

  • Portfolio to present


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience or schooling in building specificationand how it relates to design is preferred.
